Retro Retailer List: Store #6

Today’s post is the Sixth of the series of establishments for my List of Retro Retailer’s. What is a Retro Retailer? A “Retro Retailer” is either an online store or actual store that sells vintage, retro, dated, evocative, in period style, nostalgic, old world, old-fashioned, out-of-date, passe, or period specific merchandise that is either new, original, or old. If you are looking for retro items to spice up your kitchen, office, or wardrobe, this list will help you in finding the item you are looking for and also few items you can’t live without. These stores are not listed in any particular order. If I have not done a personal review of the business listed below I have not done business with them, so please buy at your own risk. Please let me know if you have any issues with anyone listed. I will take immediate action and delete them off the list. (if you have any stores you want to recommend or if you would like me to look at your business please contact me and let me know. You can email me at Skrach@VividlyVintage.com)

Retro Retailer #6

I have been to her website a ton of times and have known about it long before this blog was even thought of. I found her website from looking for “rat rods” on google a few years back. Ms. Metal (which is what she likes to be known as) is a female fabricator and metalsmith.  She hand makes kustom, jewelry, belt buckles, shift knobs, radio knobs, and other auto accessories. I really haven’t seen many people making the things that she has made, and with such style. I really like the idea of the nut with the jewel in the center. All the jewels in all of her hand-made products that she sells are cubic zirconia. She does not have a ton of items available on her online store, but with what she has I still feel she has a great selection.

In the “about” section of her website it reads:

Ms. Metal Kustom Equipment is a one-woman operation, which offers a variety of kustom car and hot rod accessories, including: headlight covers, shifter knobs, and one of a kind pieces for your vehicle. Also available is a uniquely designed line of jewelry using car related items.

The garage built ’53 Chevy showcases my skills as a metalsmith and fabricator and includes numerous hand-made pieces. (Not to mention all of the bodywork).

Enjoy the site and check back often for new products.

Ms. Metal has been featured in several magazine articles, including:

Prick Magazine, August 2004
Ol’ Skool Rodz
Wizzz

Here are a few products from her website. All of which you can purchase off of her website.

Kustom Handmade “Nut Necklaces”

Kustom Handmade Rings

Kustom Handmade Earrings

Kustom Handmade belt buckles

Kustom Handmade Automotive accessories

And much much more. Below are photos of more products and also of her 1953 Chevy Kustom:

What a craftswomen. I really like the creativity and uniqueness that her products have. Some of those pieces are really hard to make since the parts are so small but she makes it look easy. So please check them out her store and let me know how your experience is with them if you purchase from them. I would also like to do a small write-up on what you have purchased and your review. Please email me at skrach@vividlyvintage.com
